Poetry Friday: Winter Night

I thought for Poetry Friday this week, I'd write a poem inspired from a photo. I pulled this one from my own pics. If you look very closely, you'll see the deer clustered just left of center in front of a home in Winthrop, Washington. What a beautiful night!

Poetry Friday

Winter Night

In glowing clumps of snow,
doe twitch
among lights
flickering red, green, and yellow
on blue-white flakes.

Christmas deer
nibble winter buds
from snow-robed branches
and sink heart-shaped prints
across my front yard.
