Still in Miami writing poetry for the resort in Cancun. Here's a poem my daughter Ellen is contributing:
Garden
Palms burst
with fresh energy,
and exude enthusiasm.
Magenta leaves reach
elegant sheaves
to the sky.
My fingers slide
through the round fountain’s
cool cascade.

ReplyDeleteGO ELLEN!
You guys just have ALL the luck! What a sweet gig! And I love palms, it's so nice to see them where they're actually SUPPOSED to grow, (as opposed to here in the UK, where someone dragged a couple, and they're now shivering!)
ReplyDeleteNice, Ellen!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely poem!
ReplyDeleteI love the imagery of palms bursting (the choice of verb, too, showcases the blast of life felt). I also like the 'leaves/sheaves' in the second stanza. Thank you for sharing your daughter's poetry. You make a strong duo of poets. ;) Cheers.
