Book Birth
Cracking from my black
crust, words brim, bubble, and boil
onto my paper.

I took this photo on the Big Island. It was glorious to see at my feet!
"my black crust" -- love that, and it makes me think of the ugly (or what we perceive as ugly) things that happen to us that we later turn into beauty.
