Reflections: Art for Loose Threads

I'm so, so excited to discover Polyvore.com It's allowing me to express myself visually with computer generated imagery. It's more limited than playing in Photoshop, but it's so accessible, I find I'm heading over frequently to express ideas and thoughts.

I plan to post my compositions here, maybe for Photo Friday, if I can wait that long. In the meantime, here's today's image, where I was thinking about my first novel Loose Threads. It was fun to rethink it apart from the cover. This is art that reflects my themes in the book. Thanks for looking!

Hi Lori!

I am finally (yes, I'm a dinosaur) entering the world of blogs--reading and writing them. Well, reading many. Only writing a very fledgling blog about picture books. I look forward to keeping up with your new posts and savoring earlier ones.

Big smiles from Bainbridge Island,

George Shannon

Hi Lorie Ann! Loose Threads was one of the first YA verse novels I read (when I was finishing my own YA verse manuscript). It's a lovely book and exactly the type of verse that speaks to me. I love the art you've created.
