Switzerland

Arms stretched wider
than the Alps, he stands atop

Poetry Friday: Matched

Matched

Foil hearts, paper lace
cut to be my Valentine
years before we met.

My husband made this fifteen years before we met. He's been my Valentine for 30 years.

Poetry Friday: The Reception

 The Reception

We negotiate
this dance of joy and loss. We
cut the rug of life!

Poetry Friday: By Grace

By Grace

Holding your hand, I
leap into the churning deep,
laughing at unknowns.

Poetry Friday: Mt. Rainier

Skidding to a stop,
speed and flight are arrested
before majesty.

You hold tight to watch

Summer of Music, 2010

Oh, yeah. It was the summer of music. I loved every minute. Here's a peek.

Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers with Joe Cocker opening; Lucy Woodward; my hubbie's band, Fair Warning; and Adam Lambert. Rock on! I'll see if I can transfer a bit of video...

Poetry Friday: Double Hearts

Double Hearts

One heart willingly
set inside another for
a life together.

I've been in Hawaii celebrating my 25th anniversary with my hubbie! More posts soon.

However,
* I found this rock,
* set it inside a heart-shaped space
* while listening in and dancing to another happy couple's wedding reception music
* as Dave and I watched our first sunset on the the Big Island.

Sweet love.

First Crushes

It's time for some fun. When I was posting the monthly Sesame Street video at readertotz, it got me to thinking about my very first crushes. So, who were mine? These two came to mind:

First had to be Bob McGrath from Sesame Street!

And second was Jerry Lewis. Yep.

I thought Dean was as handsome as could be, but I decided he was just too naughty. :~)

And who did I marry? Ah, the best! Dave!

Who were your first crushes? Hmm?

Poetry Friday: One Empty Mic

Last week I posted Beth's beautiful vlog on Vulnerability. I'm so glad I did, however, I missed writing my haiku. Who knew? So, here I am, back at it. Although I abandoned the form for the message this week.

This summer my husband and daughter formed a band for a charity event at R.E.I. They took first place! This is for them as she prepares to leave for college.

One Empty Mic

A summer swirls past,
in the lyrics of rock songs
until only her voice
echoes in the recording,
and he turns around
to sing alone.

And now I'm bawling. Catch the full roundup at Wild Rose Reader!
