Poetry Friday: Blue Branches
Blue Branches
Like arthritic bones,
blue branches twist and stretch,
clicking to the sky.
Lorie Ann Grover, 2013
This grove of trees stands in downtown Seattle. I've only ever seen them from the car in passing.
Ooooh, the arthritic bones clicking makes me wince and smile at the same time. Don't you love public art? Thanks for the strong senses in this short form.
"Clicking" is the perfect word! Do you feel writing inspires you to pay closer attention to the world around you? It seems as though you are very good at really *seeing* things.
OMG, they did this on the UF campus here in Gainesville too. I saw it earlier this spring-- very cool. But not as cool as your haiku. Love the arthritic bones... what a great imagination you have!

I can hear the clicking of these branches as the wind blows. I'm glad they inspired you to write a haiku!

MY answer to Tabatha's question would be, "Yes." And because I haven't been writing as much this month, my *seeing* is also suffering!
