Poetry Friday: Beachcombers
Beachcombers
Thatched umbrellas
lift their skirts
as the tide sweeps close
about their thin legs
perched in the sand.
I love what you've done with the personification--the image I have is of a very ladylike type lifting her full (late 19th or early 20th century?) skirts. (Maybe I'm channeling Kate Chopin.)
